Once upon a time (almost 10 years ago), North Miami Beach was home to a legendary waterfront bar and
restaurant.
Its name was Shooters, and its pool parties were epic. (Beer, boats, Brazilians.)
Shooters fell on hard times. But now, after lying dormant for nearly a decade, it's back—reborn as The Water Club, opening today in the Intracoastal Mall.
In short, this is South Beach meets Fort Lauderdale—the place to go when you want to drink cold beers at an outdoor bar with water views and a pool hangout spot. Inside it's polished and swanky after a multi-million-dollar rehab, and outside there's a massive pool deck overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway—the perfect perch to kick back among flat-screens and pool frolicking...
But don't think it's all style and no substance. The chefs come from Talula in South Beach (look for one of them on this season's Top Chef), and they'll be dishing you plenty of upscale waterfront grub. Think crispy fried oysters with watermelon-blackened salsa and green chili aioli, and center-cut pork chops with creamy polenta, smoked bacon and bourbon brown butter.
There's also plenty of dock space if you want to bring your boat.
Go on, bring your boat.
