This week, we're getting together with J.Crew to give you a chance at a whirlwind weekend in New York, complete with two nights of downtown revelry and a $2000 J.Crew gift card. If for some reason you want to sleep, we'll also set you up in a penthouse suite at the Royalton.
Tonight kicks off a week of Italian film and parties beginning with a screening of Parlami d'Amore (Talk to Me About Love), a story of Italians seducing each other (one of our favorite topics). Hold on to your movie stub to get into the afterparty at SET, where you'll be handed gratis cocktails from 11pm to midnight. Be sure to say grazie.
Tomorrow, Puma is hijacking the PGA-caliber Blue Monster course in Doral for a day of product giveaways, nine holes of golf and gratis beer. And it's all capped off with a buffet dinner and Vegas-style gaming in the resort's clubhouse. Think of it as the Masters meets the World Series of Poker meets a German sportswear company.
Rock star photographer, sometimes DJ and brother of actress Naomi, Ben Watts will be holding court at the Mondrian's Sunset Friday party celebrating his latest book of photographs, Lickshot, as well as the release of Morgans Hotel Group's new CD (he did the cover art), which we hear is one of the best hotel albums of the year.
Stephen Starr's bastion of beef at the W Ft. Lauderdale just slashed the price on its signature burger and fries to a namesake-worthy $9.54, making this a very attractive lunch option next time you're enjoying the beach culture up north. (As always, seared meat and bikinis transcend county lines.)
