While 2021 showed a lot of promise, so far it hasn't quite lived up to the hype.
But one thing may prove that this is, in fact, a new year.
The Moley Robotic Kitchen was just unveiled at CES (the annual consumer electronics show), and it prepares freshly-cooked meals at the touch of a button. It's on sale now for custom installations.
There's not much better than a home cooked meal, especially when you don't have to cook it yourself. Or even clean up after you eat. This will take care of all that for you without complaint.
The fully-automated smart kitchen includes robotic arms that attach to a ceiling track. Those arms are outfitted with surprisingly dexterous hands whose movements were modeled after those of a human chef. They can grab ingredients, mix things together, adjust temperatures, plate food, crack eggs and perform countless more helpful motions. The contraption also comes with a full set of smart kitchen appliances, cookware and utensils.
It still requires some assistance, so you'll need to prep ingredients. But this has the potential to save you a lot of time. It's like having a live-in chef, but one you pay for upfront and who will happily work around the clock, whether you want an elaborate breakfast or a 2am snack.
New recipes are added every month, so you won't get bored, and ultimately you will be able to select from a digital menu of more than 5,000 choices. You can also input your own favorite recipes into the system.
So far, the robot takeover seems pretty promising.
