What's in room 237?
No, really, what's in there?
Turns out, there's a guy named Lloyd and he's got some Redrum rum cocktails waiting for you. Yes, Chicago's very own The Shining immersive pop-up is here and is open every Saturday night for the next four weeks above the Rookery in West Town. Here's a peek at what's in store for you.
For the occasion, the upstairs bar has been adorned with only the finest golden wallpaper and vintage typewriters. And you might just run into Jack Torrance up there, who will be throwing back a glass of bourbon on the rocks and getting increasingly deranged as the night goes on.
Join him, but don't have what he's having. Instead, opt for the Grady Twins, an appropriately colored cocktail made with gin, cream and blue Curaçao. Or perhaps the Hedge Maze, a confounding combination of mezcal and green Chartreuse with celery bitters.
And while you're there, partake in some trivia hosted by The Losers' Club: A Stephen King Podcast, say hi to the twins at the end of the hall and dance like it's the 4th of July to the music of guest DJs. Make an obvious-but-necessary "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" reference and call it a night.
Actually, maybe let someone else make that reference.
