If you didn’t know by their Twitter account, the fast food chain and architect of the square hamburger, Wendy’s, is very hip. Their fondness for dragging people is a seemingly new persona they’ve taken up via their social presence and it’s something I wrote more extensively about here. But today they released a bunch of their '80s training videos and I feel comfortable saying that Wendy’s has been hip for much longer than I gave them credit for.
If you ever (wrongly) thought there wasn’t much finesse to filling up a soft drink, this 1:54 long rap song will prove you wrong.
God forbid you didn’t know the difference between filling cold drinks and hot drinks, there is yet another video 2:38 in length explaining the intricacies of that. With riveting lyrics like “hot! Hot! Careful when you pour it!”, this song has more of a groovy funk vibe.
Here are the remaining training videos. I sincerely hope that these employees went on to have fruitful music and performance careers. I also hope that just out of frame in all of these videos is a long line or irritated customers just trying to pick up their order while the employees are rapping to camera.
