It's 2017 and nothing makes sense anymore.
Okay, this chicken place from Plan Check's owner could be the exception.
It just makes good, good sense.
Follow the rationale to Wild & Free, a promising place for rotisserie chicken and indulgent sandwiches that's now open in Sherman Oaks.
This is a casual situation you'll be thankful for once lunch comes around in the Valley. All rolled up into a bright white room with neon screaming, "Eat wild, live free." Not to get political or anything.
Just hit the counter whenever you seek the kind of not-terrible-for-you meal that our fellow citizens generally enjoy. Specifically, one comprised of esteemed Mary's Chicken hot off the rotisserie.
Said chickens come in quarters, halves and whole birds, with different amped-up flavor options like "Smokey BBQ" rubbed with paprika, cumin and brown sugar, and a spicy "Wild" kissed by three types of chilies. You can do one of those with a miso-buttered Japanese sweet potato on the side. Only if you want one.
But you may suddenly remember what Plan Check did for fried chicken sandwiches and experiment with the spicy Peruvian sandwich with smashed avocado. Or the sandwich topped with crispy chicken skin.
Those will pair well with the beer that's going to show up later this month.
It must be stuck on the 101.
