Two Very Important Burgers Move Into the West Loop

It’s a debate as old as time: smashed or un-smashed burgers? In one corner, Shake Shack’s lovingly compressed Shackburger. In the other, Kuma’s Corner’s thick patty. Related: both burger shops just opened West Loop locations. How convenient.

Meet Hotel Versey, where World’s Fair posters, vintage vinyl and lava lamps fill the lobby. Where the rooms are decorated in photos of Wrigley Field and other Chicago icons. Where they’ll open a restaurant and bar come fall. Where you get where they’re going with this.

Meet River North’s Late-Night Noodle Window

If you’re craving handmade, wok-fried noodles between the hours of 10pm and midnight, we hope you’re near Imperial Lamian. Its new walk-up window serves snack-sized noodles, dumplings and buns into the wee hours. Bonus: you don’t have to pay for any of it on Friday night. It’s less free after that.

Gratis menu May 26, 10pm-midnight, officially opens May 27, Imperial Lamian, 6 West Hubbard, 312-595-9440

Cocktails. Boozy Popsicles. Views.

Cindy’s, that rooftop restaurant on the 13th floor of the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel, is almost perfect. One thing it was lacking, though, was an al fresco bar specializing in large format cocktails and rosé. So they decided to change that, and also throw in some boozy popsicles, too. Good moves all around.

Now open, The Terrace at Cindy’s, 12 Michigan Ave, 312-792-3502
