MEXILLENT ADVENTURE

It’s a Taco Shop. For Tacos.

Fried chicken mole tacos. Lobster tacos. Duck tacos. There’s definitely some kind of theme at Alex Eusebio’s new take-out-only Cascabel Taco Shop in Burbank. We’ve been trying to wrap our heads around it, but his tendency to serve breakfast burritos is really tripping us up.

Now open, Cascabel Taco Shop, 4005 Riverside Dr, Burbank, 747-283-1138, see the menu

You’re Designing Your Own Shoes in Venice
SOLE IN ONE

You’re Designing Your Own Shoes in Venice

You have a vision. Of a shoe. Two, actually. Shoes you want to wear, but can’t find anywhere. Not an issue. You’ll visit the new pop-up from New York’s Qüero. There, you’ll create a pair of beautiful, Spanish-crafted shoes from the Goodyear sole on up. If you want an up.

Through June 4, Qüero Shoes, 1301 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, 203-253-8651

There’s Whiskey Below Miro. A Lot of It.
HERE COMES THE GRAIN AGAIN

There’s Whiskey Below Miro. A Lot of It.

Things you’ll find below Miro these days...

1) The new Whiskey Lounge.
2) A beautiful semi-circle of a bar.
3) Pairing dinners like the one with Whistle Pig this Saturday.
4) An invite-only vault featuring rare bottles.
5) A veritable fuckload of whiskey.

In retrospect, that last one feels obvious.

Saturday
Weed, Stripping and Stand-Up. You Won’t Have to Choose.
POT PURSUIT

Weed, Stripping and Stand-Up. You Won’t Have to Choose.

There’s a show happening on Saturday night that combines the consumption of marijuana edibles with seductive burlesque and stand-up comedy from the likes of The Lucas Brothers. Prediction: people will laugh. Sometimes even at the right moments.

May 20, 8pm-midnight, $50-$100, Stand Up & Take Your Clothes Off, Downtown location revealed with purchase, tickets here

Sunday
More Drinks Than Bourbon Street? You Like How They’re Talking.
BIG EASY DOES IT

More Drinks Than Bourbon Street? You Like How They’re Talking.

Bacchanal Wine is coming to E.R.B. from New Orleans on Sunday for a one-day carnival, and together, they’re promising lots of things. That it will be “The greatest party ever.” Outdoor grills and a band. “More drinks than Bourbon Street.” Perfect. You’re rarely comfortable with realistic expectations.
