All Hail the Return of Royal Clayton's to Downtown

Royal Clayton's has risen from the dead. It's back in Downtown now as Clayton's Public House, with the same Victorian finery and wall-bound eclecticism you may remember. Along with cocktails like the Mr. Chaplin with sloe gin, cognac, apricot liqueur, lemon and dry ice. Never gets old, that dry ice.

PIER EYE

A Little Surfing and a Lot of Beer

Saturday. Santa Monica Pier. You could get active competing alongside others in sports like stand-up paddleboarding, swimming, volleyball and skateboarding. Or watch Polynesian dancers or DJs from a beer garden before dipping into a pop-up museum, then back into the beer garden. You'll know the second you wake up.

You'll Need These for the Beach. Unless It's a Nude Beach.
HOME OF THE WAVE

You'll Need These for the Beach. Unless It's a Nude Beach.

One of these days, you'll require trunks and short sleeves. Better to hit Platform's Surf Market this weekend. So you can steel yourself with beachy styles from the likes of Salt Surf, Banks Journal, Lone Wolfs and others. Then all you can do is hope.

ART SECO

Where Shredding Solos Meet Korean Tacos

What happens when legends like Robert Plant, Gary Clark Jr., Neil Young and Jack White unite beside great restaurants like Kogi, Jon & Vinny's, Hatchet Hall and the Ponte? We shall collectively call it Arroyo Seco Weekend and make it take place at the Rose Bowl. And it will be delicious/good-sounding.

Sunday
A Filipino Double Burger in Chinatown
LAND OF THE LASA

A Filipino Double Burger in Chinatown

Last spring, Lasa was named Food & Wine's best local restaurant. Now, it's introducing a weekend-only Bistek Burger, consisting of double patties, soy-stewed onions, queso de bola and calamansi aioli with au jus dip. Later, it will attain self-knowledge and take over the park. Wait, that's Westworld.

Saturdays and Sundays, 11am-3pm, $14, Lasa, 727 N Broadway, 213-443-6163
