This Friday marks the opening of chef Art Smith’s heirloom-y Blue Door Kitchen & Garden, located in the carriage house of the historic Biggs Mansion. Just imagine: Mediterranean lamb sandwiches for lunch. Braised short rib for dinner. Pimento cheese fried-chicken benedicts for brunch. Ain’t life grand.
We now live in a world where two of chef Dudley Nieto’s Rojo Gusanos exist. And to celebrate that fact, the new location is granting you one gratis taco, from a selection that includes Korean BBQ beef, green curry shrimp and everything you see in that photo. Strong start, new location.
What better way to celebrate this great nation of ours than at an all-American pig luau, in a beautiful beer garden, with bottomless smoked pork and a cocktail menu solely comprised of tiki drinks. Whatever you do, don’t say “my neighbor’s BBQ.”
