Tonight.
You’ve gone to a bar, like you do, on a Friday.
Maybe you went to another.
Maybe you went to a party after that.
Maybe the sun is on the verge of emerging.
Then maybe you go to the Regal, a late-night neighborhood diner and cocktail bar from the opulent minds of Hotel Chantelle, now open.
It’s pretty diner-like, with red booths and a bar that provides the ability to sit late at night with a few distant strangers, staring contemplatively while someone outside the window paints you. Maybe. That could happen.
The meal portion of your dinner will reflect... enhanced diner. The mozzarella sticks are actually fried burrata. The meat loaf is chorizo. The grilled cheese is of the French onion soup variety. The chicken and waffles are topped with chili-maple-syrup cotton candy, which, whoa, what the hell is that?
Fun fact: they’re barrel-aging a lot of their own liquors. Amongst the cocktails where that’s relevant (see some in the slideshow) is the Begin Again, with barrel-aged gin, cinnamon bark syrup, egg white and tiki bitters.
Other fun fact: Thursday through Saturday they’re open until 5am.
And we can only pray there’s a waitress who’ll call you Suge.
