Now: You come specifically for Mexican things like spinach-and-goat-cheese-stuffed chicken, pozole and reposado Old Fashioneds. Then: Yum. Now: Different yum.

It’s Official: We’ve Got a Mix-Off

What’s a winter mix-off, exactly? Well, it’s where you try one hot and one cold cocktail from some of the city’s best bartenders (Pub Royale, GreenRiver, the Dawson...), eat brick-oven pizza and then vote on who you think crafted the finest drinks. So that’s the answer to that.

Saturday
A Sample Sale at Stock Mfg. Co. Also, Beer.
STOCK AND LOAD

A Sample Sale at Stock Mfg. Co. Also, Beer.

A definitive breakdown of stuff going on this weekend at Stock Mfg. Co.:

Online: 20% to 50% off wintry things like waxed-cotton jackets and indigo joggers.
In-store this Saturday: A one-day-only sample sale with gratis beer and discounts of up to 90% off.

Rare yet significant win for “in-store.”

Burlesque. Cabaret. Swordplay. All Here.
STATE OF CALIFORNIA

Burlesque. Cabaret. Swordplay. All Here.

Starting Tuesday, the ’30s-era cocktail lounge known as the California Clipper will host a weekly variety revue. What to expect: a rotating cast of burlesque dancers, cabaret singers, contortionists and experts in the art of swordplay. What not to expect: amateurs in the art of swordplay. That would be dangerous.

Tuesdays starting Feb 2, 9:30pm (doors at 8pm), $10 at door, California Clipper, 1002 N California Ave, 773-384-2547
