Fantastic Mr. Fox.
20th Century Fox.
Fox Mulder.
All perfectly fine foxes. But all lacking in good beer.
Here now to fill all your fox/beer needs: Mad Fox Taproom, the first DC outpost from the decorated Falls Church brewery. It opens next Monday.
Take a look inside. It was a row house long ago. And there are plenty of good seats to go around. There’s the sunken grotto, with its church pews and lights made from pipes on the walls. Or the upstairs, where you’ll find more pews, these ones fashioned into high-tops.
Or just the main bar, where you can look at the digital beer board and start coveting what’s in the 16 taps, plus three more cask handles, like an English summer ale, an oaked wee heavy and a black saison aged in Opus One cabernet barrels.
So you’ll be here awhile. So you’ll want food. It’s going to be... just what you’d want to eat. And most of it’s made with beer. Like beer-braised Wagyu that makes its way into the Reuben. Or IPA-pickled salmon on the cured seafood board. Or chicken cracklings with ale mustard.
You get the idea. Beer.
