Tomorrow night, the Optimist has your pre-Halloween party dinner entertainment in the form of three gratis concerts on the putting green. The acts go by the names of Gringo Star, DJ Agent and Indianapolis Jones. The “polis” really makes all the difference there.
You’ve probably never been to Paris on Ponce on Halloween before. The fact that they’re about to throw their first Halloween party may have contributed to that. It’s got contortionists and fire breathers and a musician performing a score to the silent film Nosferatu. Which makes it less silent, but sure.
When you hear that a couple of guys are opening a Westside brewery, you consider going. When you hear that one is a SweetWater vet, you consider it harder. And when you hear that they’re serving four beers including a spicy Thai Wheat, you have way less to consider.
Look over there. Into the future. It’s a lobster festival with four bands and a ridiculous amount of lobster-oriented comestibles from places like Villains, Rosebud, Parish and the Atlanta Fish Market. You may stop looking over there now.
