There’s this Nobu-empire vet.
And he has a feeling someone around here might want to sit on one of two striking Sunset patios eating bigeye-tuna pizza and taking in the view.
Sushi chefs are so crazy.
Here comes the majesty of Yellowtail, a new Bellagio-imported restaurant for raw fish and plentiful outdoor seating, opening Friday in West Hollywood from chef Akira Back. (See the slideshow here.)
Yep, Vegas is this sushi spot’s ancestral homeland. So celebrating birthdays and signed dotted lines is tolerated.
You’ll enter under heavy wood beams and white brick. Then, proceed to a chair upholstered in orange koi fish scales at the big black bar to your right. Here you’ll await your people with a ginger-infused whiskey cocktail or the chef’s own sake and realize this was once Mirabelle. And that at some point, you must have missed one helluva garage sale.
Depending on your required intimacy levels, you’ll want the slim upstairs patio overlooking the Pacific Design Center... or the bigger patio to the bar’s right overlooking Sunset. Soon you’ll be sharing lobster carpaccio, Alaskan king crab tempura and a pizza covered in bigeye tuna.
And they say you can’t find good sushi-pizza in this town.
