Of all the burger joints, in all the towns, in all the world...
This is the Brickell Key one with a yucca burger.
It’s called Burgerlove, and it’s a small, patty-slinging shack doing big things in the world of burgers. It’s open now. (See the slideshow.)
You’ve got some pretty big players on the Key: La Mar, Azul, Naoe. And they’re impressive, sure. Except you just need a burger. So now there’s this: a matchbox-size joint with Lucite seats and wood paneling that’s quietly doing important work in the field of burger technology. Namely, turning yucca into burgers.
(It’s always the quiet ones.)
So they’ve got that. Yucca burgers topped with blue cheese. Sounds like something that’d work for a casual lunch when you’re flying solo.
But if you’d prefer a tropical-minded meat version (grass-fed beef from a farm in Ocala), they’ve got that, too. You could end up with a real beauty topped with sweet plantains, toasted coconut, guava and/or a fried egg. Should pair up nicely with a Cigar City Maduro Brown Ale and baked pickle chips.
But what doesn’t, really.
