Edible champagne.
Sparkling bourbon.
Something tells us you want us to keep going...
... on about Washington Market Tavern, a new dinner-date and drinks spot in Tribeca, open now. Before you go, let’s break it down for you...
About that edible champagne:
It’s called the Champagne & Caviar, and it makes champagne an edible gelée (yes, like jelly, but more French). Oh, and it comes with caviar, deviled quail eggs and oyster cream. Nothing decadent to see here.
About that lamb tartare:
We actually didn’t mention that. But definitely a menu highlight.
About that sparkling bourbon:
Here it is. The High Fashion. It’s got carbonated bourbon and maple syrup. Now they’re just showing off.
About the date you’re taking here:
You want to finagle the candlelit four-top for just the two of you in the elevated back room. (See the slideshow here.)
About the future:
The “tavern” part of the equation will come along downstairs in a month and double the space. Expect the darkened, post-work cocktail salve you’ve long sought in this neck of the woods.
And in all necks of all woods.
