Unless you’ve been asleep for the last nine months (and... solid planning, if so), it hasn’t been Hamptons season in a while. But look at that—now it is again. And with a new Hamptons season comes all the shiny new spots to while away your weekends. Spots like these...

SOUTHAMPTON

1 Oak

Was: South Pointe. A spot for celebrity summering, poolside model-gramming and world-renowned DJs spinning into the sunrise.
Is now: Well, probably very similar to that. But now with an “interactive” DJ booth (you’ll see) and golden excerpts from Darwin on the walls. Which... nice to know those are there.

WATER MILL

Red Stixs

Was: Trata Estiatorio.
Is now: Not at all Greek. Instead, expect Beijing-style shrimp satay and Peking duck from a Philippe vet. Outdoors: check. Noodles and dim sum that’ll last well into the late-night, DJ-spun hours: check. You: we’ll get presumptuous and say check.

SAG HARBOR

Harlow East

Was: B. Smith’s.
Is now: The Sag Harbor outpost of the opulent Midtown seafood specialist (from a Nobu partner). This version is where you’ll come for marina-side local catch and bottles of North Fork wine. It’s been far too long since you’ve done anything marina-side.

EAST HAMPTON

Bay Kitchen Bar

Was: Andrra Restaurant & Lounge (they never recovered from the spelling error).
Is now: Where you devour all the things that live or could have lived in the waters nearby. Long Island duck, scallops, lobster ravioli. The waterfront-dining aspect still remains. That’s how geology works.

EAST HAMPTON

Finale East Hampton

Was: SL East, which, with a two-year life span, outlasted a lot of Hamptons club concepts.
Is now: The official late-night spot of the arrival-by-helicopter crowd. Think bottles and banquettes under arches of purple light. Which is great, until you see the cabanas outside. Cabanas trump everything.

MONTAUK

Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa

Was: Gurney’s.
Is now: Better Gurney’s. Totally redone. Has its own market. Beachside cocktail service. The only sand-filtered seawater pool in North America. A brand-new seafood spot. You know, better.

MONTAUK

The Harbor Raw Bar & Lounge

Was: The Cross Eyed Clam (we hardly knew ye).
Is now: Home to ocean-to-table lobster from a former Barrique chef (a Long Island favorite) and cocktails from a Red Rooster vet. Think oysters on the patio by day and live music by night. Think hard about that, in fact.
