And here it is: Tanoshii Ramen + Bar. The highly anticipated ode to all things ramen, steamed buns and Japanese whiskey is finally opening Wednesday in Deep Ellum.
Inside, it’s like a little Tokyo noodle den. Assuming Tokyo noodle dens have that warm industrial look. Exposed brick, dark wood, concrete floors. Plus a stone-topped bar that’s pouring hot sakes, cold Kirins and... room-temperature Japanese whiskeys.
So come Tuesday, think up a reason to stop by. Hunger or general curiosity should work. Then, sit on one of those tree-trunk bar stools. Or settle into a big wooden banquette and kindly suggest that someone (the waiter, perhaps) cover your table with spicy miso ramen, pork belly buns and skewered quail eggs.
