It’s a Brunch Tacos Kind of Weekend

We presume you’re going to surround yourself with Mexican festivities this weekend (call it a hunch). So you should probably know about Mi Cocina’s new brunch. Head in whenever your body allows you to and grab some Huevos con Brisket, Mexican-sausage omelets and margaritas. Mimosas can sit this one out.

May 4-5, 10am-2pm, Mi Cocina, 1080 Peachtree St NE, 404-872-8801

SHAKE IN THE GRASS

31 Bands, Three Stages, Two Days

There’s a pretty big music festival happening this weekend. Maybe you’ve heard about it. It’s the Shaky Knees fest at the Masquerade. There’ll be 31 bands (the Lumineers, Band of Horses, Delta Spirit...) playing across three stages in two days. It’ll be just like Woodstock. Only not at all.

DOWN AND DERBY

Here’s Where You’ll Be Derby-ing

You’ll need a good spot to watch the Derby. And turns out, Cook Hall is a good spot to watch the Derby. They’ve created a lemongrass mint julep just for the occasion. Also, there’s a big-hat contest happening. Feel free to place bets on the women. Or the horses.

Whiskey Blue Is Doing Pool Parties Now

It brings us great pleasure to present you with this new pool party at the W Buckhead. They’re bringing the Whiskey Blue girls down to the rooftop pool. With them: things like poolside bottle service, DJs, rum popsicles and impromptu champagne toasts. Show your gratitude by impromptu champagne drinking.

Sundays starting May 5, noon-sunset, $20, Sundaze at W Buckhead, 3377 Peachtree Rd NE, 678-500-3190

Monday

PRESENT SPENCE

Eating Gold at the Spence

Sometimes, you eat your dessert before dinner. And Monday is definitely going to be one of those times. See, the Spence is having a three-course dessert tasting. You’ll start with cucumber sorbet (and wine), move on to blueberry pie (and wine) and finish with chocolate, almonds and gold. And... wine.
