Things to do for April 25, 2013

The Weekender

A New Brunch, a Caffeinated Pop-Up and a Tequila Tasting at the High

And they lived happily ever weekend.

Thursday
Tequila Tasting at the High. Get on It.
SOME LIKE IT SHOT

Tequila Tasting at the High. Get on It.

The High Museum. It’s a great place to... prepare for Cinco de Mayo. Apparently. See, there’s going to be a Mexican mariachi band tonight. Also: tiny edible things like empanadas and shrimp ceviche. Oh, and a tequila tasting. You’re in a museum. These things happen.

Saturday
Microbrews. Nanobrews. So Many Brews.
MICRO MANAGEMENT

Microbrews. Nanobrews. So Many Brews.

There’s a beer festival happening in Sandy Springs this weekend. And we’re calling this to your attention because 1) they’ll have 70-plus beers like Mother Earth and Terrapin on a massive lawn with live music and barbecue all day, and 2) see reason one. Call us if you have any questions.

An Auction Where Everyone’s Dancing
PROCEED WITH AUCTION

An Auction Where Everyone’s Dancing

When 7pm rolls around on Saturday, you’ll probably be interested in doing something. A good place for that: the Goat Farm. It’s an auction/party-type thing. They’ll have food (Miso Izakaya, Seven Lamps...), dance performances and a silent art auction. Try to silently work that in somewhere.

Sunday
Two Urban Licks’ First Brunch Ever
GOING TWO BRUNCH

Two Urban Licks’ First Brunch Ever

Two Urban Licks is about to start serving you brunch for the first time ever. Which is probably the kind of thing you should start planning for. First, find a date who’s okay with pimento cheese BLTs, mimosas and live blues bands. Then... actually, you’re good now.

Wednesday
A New Pop-Up That Involves Caffeine
SLOW AND STEADY

A New Pop-Up That Involves Caffeine

When one coffee shop’s door closes, another... Spanish restaurant’s door opens. At least in the case of Steady Hand Pour House. They closed recently, but starting Wednesday morning, you can find them at the Iberian Pig. They’ll be making espresso beverages and Spanish-style sandwiches. Typical barista shenanigans.
