Kickstarter is great.
But it’s also frustrating, because most of the stuff you find on there isn’t available yet. It would be nice to find a site that has all that stuff and gives you options to buy.
Found.
Meet Crowd Supply, a website that allows you to launch your own genius invention, or just purchase someone else’s, online now.
There are two ways to use this, really. First, let’s say you have a hot idea the world clearly needs (your long-gestating refrigerator remote control idea comes to mind). Just like with other crowdfunding sites, you can list it here. They’ll take preorders until your first batch of manufactured units goes out and then release the funds owed to you. Easy.
But unlike with the others, the stuff on here is a mix of still-in-funding gems as well as ideas that have recently become available. Say, some futuristic-looking foldable boots that roll up and slip into a bag. Or an LED bike light that requires a special tool to remove after being attached (read: theft-resistant).
Of course, there’s always the chance you won’t actually like the item you buy. When that happens, you can exchange it for a full refund within 30 days.
Careful: this is how you wound up with a NordicTrack.
