Things to do for April 04, 2013

The Weekender

Two New Food Trucks, Disco Brunch and a Springsteen-less Springsteen Show

Speak now or forever hold the weekend.

Thursday
Friday
Burgers. Pho. Two New Food Trucks.
DOUBLE IMPACT

Burgers. Pho. Two New Food Trucks.

The Food Truck Park’s four-day season-opener party starts tomorrow. Expect Chinese lion dancers. Also expect two new trucks. One’s from the Mac the Cheese guys: the Atlanta Burger Truck (gruyère burgers, hand-dipped shakes). The other’s from a Buford Highway café: Viet-Nomie’s (chicken pho, noodle boats). Seriously, though... lion dancers.

Saturday
Seven Sins and Seven Bars
SIN CITY

Seven Sins and Seven Bars

The Atlanta Ballet is putting on a seven-deadly-sins-themed bar crawl. And that’s... pretty weird. But yeah, it starts at Church and you’ll head out from there, stopping at a different bar for each sin along the way (Sound Table, Joystick, Edgewood Speakeasy...). Ballet people know how to party.

Sunday
A Disco Brunch with Ghost Pepper Pizza
THAT ’70S BRUNCH

A Disco Brunch with Ghost Pepper Pizza

Cibo E Beve has a new monthly disco brunch. And they’ve got all the important things covered: ’70s music. A balloon drop. A costume box full of feather boas. But most importantly: beer-and-gin mimosas and the Disco Inferno. The ghost pepper salami pizza, not the song.

Monday
Parish’s Fried Chicken, Now To-Go-able
FRIED AND TRUE

Parish’s Fried Chicken, Now To-Go-able

Something big is happening on Monday. That’s when Parish will start offering their buttermilk-brined fried chicken to go. Oh, right, and there’s that championship game at the Dome. If you’re going the viewing-party route, get a half chicken and some sides here first. Paid for with bracket winnings, obviously.

Wednesday
A Springsteen Show. Minus Springsteen.
BRUCE CLEANSE

A Springsteen Show. Minus Springsteen.

Let’s talk Springsteen. The patriotism. The leather jackets. The rocking people’s faces off. About that last one. Some local musicians are about to recreate the entire Born to Run concert at the Sound Table. Go. Grab a rye cocktail called The Boss. Then realize what they did there.
