Sometimes in life, you find things where you least expect them.
Other times, you find them in the last place you look.
And then, every once in a rare while, that thing you’re searching for is exactly where you’d think it would be.
Meet WD 555, a wine-crazy SoBe patio that’s tucked away... in the back of a wineshop, now open.
You’re familiar with Wine Depot. Cozy little wine market in SoBe. Closed up shop for a bit. Reopened in November with some new owners who thought a stainless-steel bar, high-top barrel tables and 300 different wines might spruce up the place. Visionaries, those guys.
Well, now they’ve unveiled the remodel to their remodel: an open-air patio that’s attached to the back and kinda perfect for nibbling on foie gras and tilting back some pinot.
So by all means, come after work. Or on any cool 70-degree evening when drinking vino near the beach seems like a sage idea. Just walk onto this palm-tree-lined terrace and settle down on one of the Philippe Starck–designed white wicker chairs. Have the sommelier pull you something rare off the store’s rack to uncork. Taste it. Realize it would probably pair well with a small plate of seared octopus. Order a small plate of seared octopus.
We assume you can take it from here.
