Well, it’s the weekend again.
And boy, aren’t those the worst...
But hey, it’ll be okay. Just go out late, sleep in and do a bunch of really interesting things to distract yourself.
Monday will be here before you know it.
And with it: this place.
Prepare to meet Mudsmith, a rustic all-day hangout for espresso, draft beer and wine on tap, plus all the food that pairs nicely with such things, opening Monday on Lower Greenville.
Okay, so this is the latest venture from Brooke Humphries (Barcadia, Beauty Bar, It’ll Do). You may know her for giant Jenga and crazy dance parties. Now, you’ll also know her for this laid-back wooden den stocked with communal tables and deer heads. The type of spot where you’ll show up early for a Sunday latte and housemade pastries, and then return later for a cold pale ale and a meat loaf sandwich.
When you’re coming here for an AM pick-me-up, just claim a square-top bar stool and a French press coffee. When you’re coming here at night, choose a round of rotating drafts off the chalkboard and direct your friends to a distressed-wood table along the wall. One over by the horse skeleton seems a natural/unsettling choice.
And when you’re coming here for a ham sandwich, well, order the one with cheese and a nice raisin chutney.
You’re currently going through a real chutney phase.
