Here come the holidays.
And with it, a house full of family.
Pretty soon, you’ll probably be wishing you had a little space. A little “me” time. A little cottage nobody knows about with a fully stocked bar and some short rib stroganoff.
How’s Monday sound...
Stop in and introduce yourself to Outpost American Tavern, a cozy little refuge for two-handed sandwiches and cold beers, opening after the weekend in the old Campo space.
Since the Campo days, this place has gotten quite the makeover. The white tables and bar were replaced with rustic wood, subway tiles and a drop-down steel cage (that’s where they keep the liquor). Plus, everything’s a bit darker now. Which makes it a solid candidate for a French-dip-and-Old-Fashioned-equipped emergency escape spot.
So get here, go inside and step toward the bar on the right. Post up near the desk lamps and order a Firemans #4, then make your way to a windowside table in the front corner. This would be a great time to call for a plate of beer-battered fish tacos and a side of shishito peppers. Actually, any time would be a great time to call for that.
Right now, it’s dinner only, but lunch and weekend brunches are coming soon. And that’ll be your cue to come back for an afternoon of deviled eggs and icy gin.
That’s a brunch worth waking up for.
