Things to do for October 18, 2012

The Weekender

Cannoli, Chicken Wings and a Couple Birthday Parties

Binders full of weekends.

Thursday
Cannoli and Prosecco at Antico
GOING PRO-SECCO

Cannoli and Prosecco at Antico

Antico is turning three. And they’re getting you a gift. We know, aww, they shouldn’t have. But actually, yes, they should have. Because it’s a cannoli. Or a glass of prosecco. Just go in today through Saturday, and they’ll bring you your present. Maybe have them gift wrap that cannoli.

Sunday
Hogs, Bourbon and Music at Local Three
A PIG DEAL

Hogs, Bourbon and Music at Local Three

This Sunday, your presence is requested at Local Three. Okay, no, not specifically, but they’re going to have all your favorite things. Roasted hogs from a Georgia farm. A bunch of bourbon from Tennessee. Folk music from... the patio. Also, you’ll get a commemorative T-shirt. Machine washable.

Monday
A New Bar Menu for Football Watching
GIVES YOU WINGS

A New Bar Menu for Football Watching

Next up on Monday Night Football: the Lions versus the Bears. And maybe you’re emotionally (read: financially) invested in that game. Probably you’re not. But here’s where you’ll watch it: Cibo E Beve. They’ve got new football-centric bites like Quarterback Sliders (a meatball sandwich) and “Dirty Bird” Wings. Eat those. In Jamal Anderson’s honor.

Tuesday
Getting a Gratis Dinner at the Pinewood
CHEAP DATE

Getting a Gratis Dinner at the Pinewood

Having two is better than one. The Doublemint twins taught you that. Ah, the Doublemint twins. Anyway, the Pinewood is offering up two entrées for one on Tuesday nights now. For instance, if you get the braised pork cheeks, your date will get a gratis trout dish. Unless your date is allergic to trout.

Tuesdays, The Pinewood, 254 W Ponce de Leon Ave, Decatur, 404-373-5507

Next Friday
Happy Birthday, Spotted Trotter...
SWEET EXISTENCE

Happy Birthday, Spotted Trotter...

The Spotted Trotter has existed for a year now. So if you haven’t been there yet, next Friday would be a good time to start. They’ll have about 10 chefs (from places like Rosebud, and Proof and Provision), vodka, local beers/wine and a jazz funk band. Oh right, and their smoked meat. Which makes sense.
