Things to do for August 30, 2012

The Weekender

Cuban Pork, Fresh-Baked Cookies and Strategically Placed Pasties

Any way you want it, that’s the way you weekend.

Thursday
The Webster: Now with More Crumb
PIECE OF CAKE

The Webster: Now with More Crumb

Today, you need some snickerdoodles, socks, a Margiela jacket and a cocktail. (Not necessarily in that order.) You could A) spend all day driving around the city, or B) head straight to the Webster, where Michelle Bernstein’s opened a second Crumb on Parchment. First you eat, then you sock shop.

Bubbles and Burlesque at Segafredo
LIFE AQUATIC

Bubbles and Burlesque at Segafredo

Labor Day: summer’s final curtain call. And it deserves a worthy send-off. So Segafredo Brickell is doing the honors with some nautically themed pinup-model hosts, a midnight champagne toast and a burlesque show full of coral-colored pasties. No word on whether they double as flotation devices.

Friday
A Rooftop Picnic at Edge Steak & Bar
ON THE EDGE

A Rooftop Picnic at Edge Steak & Bar

Breaking news: Friday is National Eat Outside Day. Thing is, you started celebrating during lunch today. And yesterday. Still, good excuse to head over to Edge for a rooftop picnic with blue crab and corn hush puppies, beer-braised brisket and bourbon custard. Bourbon always gets you in the holiday spirit.

Sunday
A Pool Party with Lobster Tails
POOL CUES

A Pool Party with Lobster Tails

In honor of your supersized weekend, the Delano is throwing, well, a supersized pool party. There’s the usual DJ and cabanas, but this Sunday will bring bottles of Moët Ice and a joint surf-and-turf brunch from Bianca. Last call for your white bib.

Sep 2, noon, no cost for pool party, $55 for brunch, Delano, 1685 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, 305-672-2000

A Roast Pork Party. The Cuban Way.
PIG OUT

A Roast Pork Party. The Cuban Way.

Roast pork. Call it a hunch, but we bet you could use some. All you need to do: wait. Until Sunday. And go to PAX. They’re hosting a traditional Cuban dinner (roast pig, black beans, lots of live music) and serving Azucar’s bourbon/Heath bar ice cream. You’ll want that. Call it another hunch.
