We’re lovers. You know that. But every now and again, something comes across our desks that just seems... suspicious. Because of the tremendous material upside to all our lives if these claims pan out, we at times put ourselves in harm’s way to investigate. Albeit skeptically.

We call it: Skeptical Investigation. (Trademark pending.)

THE CLAIM
The guys at Good Time Beverages have taken a huge step (possibly of the side variety) in margarita innovation with Bob & Stacy’s Premium Margarita. A ready-made tequila cocktail packed into a resealable pouch (yes, like Capri Sun). Clearly, this calls for a closer look.

THE INVESTIGATION
So we sent our boxed-wine investigation unit (we’re still working on hiring a full-time alcoholic-pouch team) over to a Texas liquor store to procure and examine a few of these 30-proof things.

Once back in the lab (and wearing safety goggles, of course), they began the experiment. Glass rims were salted, guacamole was made, and then the plastic pouch was carefully punctured, poured over ice and bravely sipped...

THE VERDICT
Well, it’s sweet. Very sweet. Think highly concentrated lemon-lime juice with a shot or two in it. Still, if cut with some water, or tossed in a blender, it’ll do you just fine in a pinch.
