The Weekender

Taco Delivery, a New Bar and So Much Tequila

The weekend is watching Itself at Bernie’s.

Thursday
Via Dies. Istanblue Lives.
HERE’S LOOKING AT BLUE

Via Dies. Istanblue Lives.

You know Via. That semi-clubby, semi-loungey spot in Buckhead that used to be fun. Well, it’s gone now. In its stead, a new Turkish restaurant/lounge (they kept the look intact) doling out all manner of lamb kebabs, baba ghanoush and Arnavut Cigeri... it’s calf’s liver sautéed in herbs. Pregame calf’s liver. Do it.

Now open, Istanblue, 262 Pharr Rd, 404-214-5404

Friday
It’s a New Bar. It’s Called the Pullman.
PULL MARKET

It’s a New Bar. It’s Called the Pullman.

There’s a new bar opening in Kirkwood tomorrow. But they’ve also recruited the chef from Radial Café, which means you’ll be privy to things like late-night gnocchi with pesto cream, and fish and grits to go along with your Rule G (amaretto, bourbon, ginger ale...) and Jailhouse pints. If you’re into food, that is.

Bad Dog Gets into the Delivery Game
DELIVERANCE

Bad Dog Gets into the Delivery Game

There’s this big football game coming up. “Super” something or other. Anyway, in case you’re planning on eating things during that game, you may be interested to hear that Bad Dog Taqueria now delivers. As in, the whole menu. Yucca fries and plantain-encrusted chicken are to football as... never mind.

Saturday
Escorpion Gets Nightlife-y
TEQUILA SUNSET

Escorpion Gets Nightlife-y

Escorpion is a restaurant. Granted, there’s a lot of tequila there. But still... restaurant. So if you happen to drop by this Saturday, you may find yourself a bit confused. Because that’s when they’re basically turning the whole place into a club—DJs, dancing, live music. Again, there’s a lot of tequila there.

SUN TRUST

Eating Dinner at a Breakfast-Only Spot

Sun in My Belly. Great brunch spot. And while it’s certainly seen you through your fair share of mornings-after, interesting tidbit: they serve dinner now. You can still get breakfast all night, but you can also get fried chicken with mac and cheese, coconut-braised mussels and, of course, meat loaf. Of course.
