Last weekend: not exactly tame. Let’s just say you’re still getting confetti out of your mobile hot
tub.
So this weekend, you’re taking it easy: just you, a patio, some canned beer. Maybe some duck fat fries...
Enter 303 Bar and Grill, a new beer and burger joint in an old Oak Cliff house, soft-opening tonight.
If you’ve ever looked at your grandma’s house and said, “Man, this would make a gorgeous bar,” then a) your grandma must have a great house, and b) you’ll love this place. It’s got everything you need for a good time: a fireplace, a library, some old pictures of 1920s flapper girls... oh, and one big stuffed goose on the wall. (Grandma used to hang with Ted Nugent.)
But about this weekend—if you haven’t noticed, it’s damn nice outside. Patio nice. Take advantage on their wraparound porch, and order up some comfort food (a tilapia sandwich, those duck fat fries) and a tallboy—which comes in a paper bag. Hey, it is Oak Cliff, after all...
Then, sometime soon—say, next Saturday—the weather might drop to a frigid 50 degrees. If it’s night, you’ll head inside to the bar for a rum-filled milkshake made with coconut milk. Or starting next weekend, pick up brunch, replete with pancakes stuffed with pulled pork.
You had your time, chicken and waffles.
