The weekend is running around like a weekend with its head cut off.
This is great. It’s a four-day weekend. Kind of warm out. Everything smells like stuffing. You should definitely ride this vibe out tonight. Humble suggestion: hit Park Tavern for back-to-back sets from Yacht Rock, fire pits for s’mores and hot-toddy-slinging barkeeps everywhere. They sling gin, too.
Okay, tough love time. Mood Lounge: pretty weak the last two years or so. But good news: it’s not weak anymore. Chalk it up to the new owners, endless renovations, an actual menu (tenderloin bruschetta, brisket sliders...) and a focus on old-school cocktails like Sazeracs, Manhattans and Aviations. That’ll do.
You’ve been to Martinis & IMAX before. Your date loved it. Which is exactly why we’re sending you back for the holiday version with live music from Kingsized, gratis swing dance lessons, performances by the Dames Aflame girls and date-friendly cocktails like the Pumpkin Pie Martini. Oh, and an IMAX flick.
So there’s this great little meat depot called the New York Butcher Shoppe. Several of them, actually. The problem: they’re almost all OTP. Except for the one that just opened in Midtown. You’ll swing by on the way home for fat porterhouse cuts, legs of lamb and bottles of barolo. And bottles of chianti.
Monday Night Brewing. Red Hare Brewing Company. Local Three. Yeah... that’s pretty much the best trifecta ever. And turns out, they’re all joining forces to make you dinner and pour beers for you—think Carolina rabbit with Watership Brown (Red Hare) and smoked pork sausage with Drafty Kilt (MNB). You’ll need a break from wine anyway.
