Erotic Literature, a French Party and Truffles
Never weekend on an empty stomach.
Thursday
Some People Reciting Erotic Literature
There’s an exhibit going on right now at the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center. It’s called Sex Drive. So a few local artists, poets and erotically inclined dignitaries decided it would be a good idea to get together and read passages from their favorite adult literature for you. And it is.
Everything’s Coming Up Truffles
There’s a good bit of excess coming your way tonight. But it’s Thursday, so you already knew that. Before it all goes down, though, hit the St. Regis for round one—a six-course truffle dinner with plates like Roasted Guinea Fowl Breast with Black Truffle Popcorn. Thanks for trying out, Jiffy Pop.
Saturday
Kevin Rathbun Is Judging Your Chili
You’ve got so much to teach the world. But for now, let’s focus on chili. More specifically, how to be better at making it than everyone else. Hit Steinbeck’s chili cook-off and enter your own (Kevin Rathbun is judging), or just go and eat other people’s. Or just go and drink beer.
The French Are Throwing You a Party
Classical piano. Charcuterie. Cognac. Blue-eyed French expats who would like nothing more than to immerse you in their culture. It’s all happening. And to happen with it, you’ll need to rendezvous with the French-American Chamber of Commerce at the Defoor Centre this weekend. It’s a big, French-themed party. Those are amazing.
Dates Love the Holidays. You Love Rum.
The Botanical Garden just bought about a million holiday lights. Literally just went crazy. And they want you to grab a date and check those out. They’ll have s’mores kits you can roast over the fire pit and a few bars with things like hot buttered rum. Feel free to hold the hot buttered.
