Strange things are afoot in Castleberry Hill. More than usual, that is. Because tonight, you’ll find yourself wandering the streets surrounded by towering art projections on abandoned buildings, lasers, a lantern parade and, of course, people just randomly pouring iron. And puppets, but we’ve already gone too far.
When push comes to shove, you’re okay with eating ribs and drinking beer. And if, say, 40 restaurants and amateur BBQ-smiths felt like competing for your approval with brisket, pulled pork and whole hogs, you’d consider taking one for the team. Anyway, that’s happening this weekend. Sorry.
The largest abandoned building in the galaxy (sorry, Atlanta) is about to become a lot less abandoned. Mostly because there’s a huge party there this weekend—think 14 chefs (Rathbun, Acheson...), live music from Shawn Mullins and tours of the building itself. Which may or may not take seven weeks.
There’s a black-tie affair coming up we thought you should know about. It’s on a soccer field. Which can only mean one thing: awkward. Also: brilliant. Behold the Black Tie Soccer Game, your chance to... well, watch people play soccer in tuxedos. Consider it R&D for your wetsuit croquet league.
