Consider the Philly cheesesteak.
There’s cheese. There’s steak. There’s Philly attitude. It’s perfect.
The only way it could get more perfect: if it were a pizza.
Introducing Xlixe (“Slice”) Pizzeria, a new beer-soaked pizzeria that’s not afraid to turn sandwiches into pies, now soft-open in Little Tokyo before its official Thursday debut.
This is a rustic, dark-wood kind of pizza spot that holds about 50 people max. So you’ll want to come by for a quick, hefty New York–style slice at lunch or on a casual date. Grab a corner table, turn away from the outside world and hole up with that Slanted Philly pizza, topped with marinated rib eye, ricotta, mushrooms and onions.
And if you’re feeling adventurous—like rabbit pizza adventurous—go for The Little Tokyo, topped with persimmon, mozzarella and, yes, rabbit. To wash it down, there’s plenty of craft beer on tap (like Solidarity, a dark mild ale from Eagle Rock Brewery), and everything’s priced at $6 to encourage some exploration.
But if you know what you like, toss ’em $22 and you’ll get it in a growler to take home.
Small price to pay for some Solidarity.
