Off-Stripping

The Locals' Lowdown

You won't find these off-the-beaten path—and off The Strip—spots in your guidebook.

Blue Martini/Yard House

Blue Martini/Yard House

With the anti-Strip trend spreading rapidly throughout Vegas, venues like Blue Martini are pulling in sexy locals (read: off-duty dancers and bartenders) with their generously sized martinis with shaker service. Much classier than bottle service...

VOX

VOX

Further off-Strip than most tourists are willing to venture, VOX Wine Lounge overcompensates for its mountain's-edge Anthem location with a rare gem of a wine program and a hot Monday night. Just ignore the video poker and choose to apply your luck in... other areas.

411: 2630 West Horizon Ridge Parkway, 702-407-7780

Red Room Saloon

Red Room Saloon

Far more aggressive than other venues in its disdain for the conventional (as evidenced by the launch of "F-k the Strip Fridays"), the Red Room Saloon is a haven for locals—and especially bartenders—365 days a year. Enough said. Except for the nice little fact that the owners don't even have a set of keys. Meaning you can always expect the door to be open.

411: 3101 West Sahara Ave, 702-257-9663

The Artisan

The Artisan

Hidden away in the quirky Artisan boutique hotel, this gothic candlelit lounge attracts a crowd at all hours with strong, sizable martinis (like moths to a flame...). Plan to meet Hunter S. Thompson-types on a bender.
