Every once in a while, it happens.
You find a great little neighborhood spot that somehow addresses all your most important needs at once—sandwiches, keg, a couple steaks for later. Suddenly, you’re set for the day.
Welcome to the modern new home of all things carnivorous and beer-y—Salt’s Cure opens Saturday.
Step inside what looks like the loft you’ve always dreamt of sharing with Padma Lakshmi—simple, stylish, always smelling of sizzling meat—and you’ve got two options. If you’re staying, grab a table by the front windows and check out the specials on the rear blackboard. But if you just need some steaks for the grill later, step up to the deli counter to the left.
Actually, there’s a third option—do both. Settle in for a lunch of corned beef on rye, or a hot dog with everything from the bun to the ketchup made in house. Order a pint from the keg. Repeat as necessary. Then, once you’re full, take a look at the pâté, charcuterie and prime cuts of California beef in the deli case, and grab whatever you need for your meat-related dalliances back at home.
And in a few weeks, they’ll be serving dinner too.
At press time, they were not taking rental applications...
