This is it.
After a month of false starts and rained-out promises, the blaze of summer is full upon us. And it’s going to be a glorious one.
We’re talking blazing roof BBQs, beach bonfires at sunset and the occasional spot of illegal nightswimming.
First order of business: some new pre-skinny-dipping attire...
Enter Saturdays, the first clothing collection from the owners of that hidden gem of a surf shop and café in SoHo.
The new line is pretty much exactly what you’d expect from a group of guys who’ve been curating vintage surf books, artisan surfboards and other people’s classic gear in their own shop: board shorts that aren’t too short or too long, soft tees, a few tank tops and a couple shirts that are begging to be worn when you get thrown into the pool against your will.
And they’ve keyed in on some details meant to help you live out that Endless Summer surfer vibe: shirts printed with a pair of puckered lips to remind you of summer’s possibilities, horizontally striped button-downs that look better the more they fade into sun-washed glory and the kind of loudly colored, trim swimsuits that work for crashing waves and lazy days spent admiring long wet hair tied back into a ponytail in beachside cafes.
Ponytail not required.
