DUCK, DUCK...BUFFALO

Buffalo Confit at Westend Bistro

On the off chance you needed another excuse to go to the bar, Eric Ripert is bringing you some new bar snacks like oyster pan roasts and lobster rolls with garlic and sherry. The true achievement, though, is the duck legs confit, which are breaded, fried and tossed in Buffalo sauce. You can almost see Canada from here.

SeaVees Debut at Lost Boys

It may be hard to believe, but soon enough the sun will be shining bright and your schooner will finally be out of the dry dock. So your feet must be prepared accordingly. These suede, canvas or (appropriately) sailcloth lace-ups work equally well on a SoCal surfing beach or a Cape Cod pier—in other words, like the Beach Boys by way of Bush 41.

A GREAT SOCIETY

95-Cent Cocktails at Occidental

It's 1967 all over again—Democrats are in charge, health care is on the table, and across the street from the White House, drinks are less than a buck. With any order from the bar menu, the 100-year-old grill will serve you a classic cocktail (Gin Rickey, Stinger, Old Fashioned, to name a few) at 1967 prices—95 cents. Next up: a summer of love.

THE FIVE D'S

Open Registration for Dodgeball Tourney

Dragging yourself to Rockville at 9:30am isn't your typical Saturday. But launching your own reign of terror with red rubber balls isn't a typical incentive. Gather up five friends with a similar killer instinct for this six-on-six tourney, sanctioned by the National Amateur Dodgeball Association. Because you don't want to know what goes on in the unsanctioned leagues.

Happy Hour Launches at Il Canale

Whatever ails you come Monday, a pizza margherita, prepared by a team of Neapolitans who have come to Georgetown solely to toss some dough, ought to help. They'll even throw in a glass of wine, and get you out the door for less than 10 bucks. Kissing on both cheeks is encouraged.

Mon-Thu, 4-7pm, $9.99, Il Canale, 1063 31st St NW, 202-337-4444
