The Daily Catch

Nice Catch

A Boston Seafood Institution Returns

UD - The Daily Catch Be it the Patriots' Super Bowl wins or the Dahm triplets from Playboy, one thing's for certain.

Good things tend to come in threes.

Driving that point home to Brookline comes The Daily Catch, the third installment of the beloved Sicilian-style seafood empire, opening today in Coolidge Corner.

Those of you in the Fenway and Audubon Circle areas can rejoice: you no longer have to hoof it to the other side of the city for Calamari Meatballs, heaping plates of Lobster Fra Diavolo and whatever else the family-run business has culled from the sea that day.

And because they're reopening their Brookline outpost (after a few years off and a new paint job), you now have a cozy 19-seat seafood option to turn to, not to mention a solid solution when craving an ice-cold Birra Moretti (and, okay, maybe a Grilled Swordfish with Homemade Black Pasta Alfredo) after a screening at the Coolidge Corner Theatre down the road.

But as the smallest of the three DCs, it's also the perfect neighborhood nook when looking to grab a quiet table with a date, where you can choose from 18 different Italian wines.

In terms of charm, think of it as Al Pacino at the beginning of the first Godfather.
