Logan Square's New Fried Food Finery

None
An ice-cold beer and a good jukebox is usually all you need.

And then there are Fridays like these, when those are only a start…

So welcome to The Rocking Horse, adding just the right amount of polish to Logan Square's drinking options.

With its dark moody walls and amber '60s-vintage lights, it's the rare boozing den where you could imagine Don Draper brooding over an old-fashioned or hipsters arguing about whether to play Hank Williams or Fleet Foxes over $2.50 PBRs. (At which point Draper would probably just walk over and punch in something '60ish and soulful. Or, you know, them.)

And since this place is owned by the same guys behind High Dive—among this town's top purveyors of quality fried food—you'll be in good shape when you're hungry. Burgers and overflowing platters of French fries (smothered in everything from cheese and gravy to feta and oregano) and Tater Tots (regular, ranch or Cajun), make a nice complement to beers like Matilda, one of the dozen craft brews on tap.

Later, if you feel like knocking something around, head to the back where you'll find a vintage photo booth, a pool table and Who Dunnit Murder Mystery Pinball.

Spoiler alert: the butler tilts.
