Thursday evening dips start this week at the Roosevelt Hotel pool bar with rotating DJs spinning pool-friendly tunes. Bringing new meaning to drinking safely, lifeguards will be on duty.
Get your pool ready, it's the weekend.

Art, drinks, and that crisp, clear LA evening air—instead of another Saturday night at another bar, check out the kickoff return of MOCA's summer evening series: exhibits, DJ Steve Aoki, bands, bar and dance floor. Warhol would've been proud.
Not to worry, Downtowners who are feeling dry can dip in at Blue Velvet—we've already told you about the pool (you can thank us later), which now features weekly parties with a DJ, $5 drink specials, and a poolside menu of bites and burgers.
Downtown's "Grand Performances" series starts the season off by closing down the whole damn street. The block party features the city's favorite multi-culti rockers (Ozomatli) and a case of Dengue Fever (that's a trippy band, not a rash).
Keep the weekend going by the Viceroy pool. Take your pick from trays circulating with rotating $5 goodies like bacon-wrapped scallops and grilled elk tenderloin. There are also drinks, desserts and, well, dessert drinks (like key lime margaritas).
