"I could totally continue doing that, floating all over the planet while others pamper, feed and entertain me." — You, at the end of the last cruise you took.

"Here I go, embarking on a 245-day voyage that will take me to 6 continents and 59 countries while I'm continually pampered and entertained." — Future you, still publicly airing your every thought about the merits of cruising.

You're aboard the Viking Ultimate World Cruise from Viking Cruise Lines. It's the longest continuous cruise in the world, and it's booking now for a round trip voyage departing London on August 31st, 2019 and returning May 2nd, 2020 (you might want to request your vacation days today).

It'll be you and 929 other passengers that you're bound to keep running into as you touch down on six continents, 113 cities and 59 countries (you'll recognize a few from this slideshow). The trip includes a near-excessive amount of guided tours—113, in fact—but you can also book additional excursions, such as:

  • An off-road, guided truck expedition across Iceland's second-largest glacier.
  • Observing a colony of Emperor Penguins on a beach in the Falkland Islands.
  • Following a tai chi lesson in Hong Kong with some dim sum, which is preferable to following dim sum with a tai chi lesson.
  • Sailing along the coast of Oman in a traditional wooden dhow.
  • Tasting Port while in Porto, because it would be weird if you didn't.

Also, everyone gets one "king of the world" reference.

Use yours wisely.
