Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Buttoned-up professional by day, maniac by night. Frankly, you can relate.
And so should your bar.
Welcome to Nokturnal, the new night spot in Hotel Epik from the guys behind Bullitt, Soda Popinski's and Tonic, opening next Friday looking a lot like this.
By day, you'll enter this mellow, unassuming bar and perhaps have an apertif while admiring the dark, textured wallpaper. Seeing as how you love a good textured wallpaper, this is really going to work out.
By night, though. By night is when you'll want to return with friends. The lights will be down and the spookier elements will be out: think light and sound effects that aren't as cheesy as that CD you used to put on for Halloween.
You'll want to partake in a similarly themed cocktail like a Lector's Leisure with Gran Classico, rye and Lo-Fi Sweet Vermouth. Or perhaps an Eye of Sauron made with bourbon, Sloe Gin, blended scotch, Fernet and topped with a flame-wreathed, all-seeing eye (or a bourbon cherry speared into an orange wedge, depending on how you look at things).
Tipple in hand, you could either retire to a comfortable booth, or stay seated at the digital-top bar to play with interactive scenery or engage in a game of Space Invaders with the person next to you.
No word yet on Pong.
