"Never trust an imbibing establishment that doesn't have a peacock lording over its bar."
No one said that.
Somebody should probably start saying that.
For here is an incredibly attractive new Fort Lauderdale lounge from the Ora and Rhythm and Vine people called the Wilder that's open now, looks like this and demands you and your date's immediate attention. And has a peacock.
Walking in, you'll encounter a lobby area with a marble bar and that peacock resting gingerly atop some brass shelving. Don't mind him. He's just kindly directing your attention toward the tequila and chipotle-chocolate that will make up your Live Up to My Name cocktail.
Then, after crossing through a tropical hallway with giant painted leaves and birds of paradise in bloom, you'll find yourself in the great room. And how great it is, what with its coffered walls, warm amber glow, Old World charm and, yes, more drinks.
Which brings you to a second marble bar and their version of a Pimm's Cup with gin, strawberry, blueberry and ginger ale. And feel that? That's a warm December breeze coming from the bougainvillea- and antique sconce-filled patio.
And probably the Pimm's Cups.
