Gemini Bistro Isn’t Gemini Bistro Anymore

But It’s Way Better, So You’re Good

Change is good.

Change keeps you on your toes.

Change gives you vodka on tap and fat steaks slathered in bone marrow butter.

At least in the case of Gemini, it does. Yes, after closing in January, Lincoln Park’s beloved Gemini Bistro reopens Wednesday with a shorter name and a few other notable changes that we’ll get into right after you look at this slideshow.

The Dining Room
Then: Dark and sexy with an awkward divider wall in the middle.
Now: Less dark, equally sexy with wooden booths surrounded by leather banquettes. Awkward wall’s gone, too.

The Bar
Then: Marble with a nice view of a white wall.
Now: It moved, which is an impressive thing for a bar to do. It’s nice and U-shaped now with some important whiskey-filled shelves.

The Food
Then: Duck confit nachos. Steak frites. You get it.
Now: The duck confit nachos make a comeback. The steaks are suddenly slathered in bone marrow butter. And there’s a new bread program that’ll come in handy should you like foie gras mousse with English toast. You probably do.

The Drinks
Then: Something called the Squirtsky, which is two types of vodka with grapefruit and lime.
Now: The Squirtsky’s on draft. The Velvet Old Fashioned is not. Both are acceptable ways to start or end dinner.

Oh, and don’t forget the middle part.
