Just a Nice Place to Drink Rum and Listen to Live Jazz

It’s Called Floyd, and You’re Going to Find Yourself There Tonight

We’re not sure what possessed you to do that whole Dry January thing.

We’re just glad you’re back.

And so is this place.

It’s called Floyd, you will listen to live music and drink brown spirits there, and it’s now open in Downtown. Have a look around.

This used to be Libertine. Then the guys from iii Points, East, Soho House and Link Miami got together and turned it into something... not that. Think live jazz, soul, poetry readings and fawned-over cocktails.

Suffice it to say, it’s not the same mega-club vibe that you’ll find throughout the rest of the neighborhood. Not at all. Change is good.

The guy from The Annex in Wynwood designed the place, which means it has a decidedly vintage feel—bricks, chandeliers, Persian rugs. But back to those drinks. There are 49 of them.

Have a Bramble. Have a rum-and-thyme daiquiri. Have the one they call the Penicillin with scotch, honey, lemon juice and candied ginger.

Then maybe just sit back and listen to some live music. Bob your head around a little. You’ve earned this.

It’s been awhile since you’ve had a hangover, so make it a good one.

On a typical Wednesday, Ginger Harris is likely seeking reposado tequila, squeezing her way to the front of a concert or jumping on the back of an Indian motorcycle. That’s just Wednesdays, though.
