Ever found yourself in one of those classic dinnertime predicaments, where someone wants sushi, someone
wants empanadas, someone wants pizza, someone wants poutine, someone wants steak frites, and you have just
no idea where to go?
...
Neither have we.
But that doesn’t mean you should be any less excited to visit the Madison Bar & Kitchen, a warm neighborhood tavern from the Union Sushi people with all those things, plus a 26-strong cocktail list, opening tonight in the West Loop. Take a look around.
The Woop (nickname pending) is brimming with places willing to chef the fuck out on one specific type of food. And that’s great. You love those places. But sometimes you want something a little more... not that.
Which is how you’ll end up here, with literally whoever in tow, perusing a menu that somehow manages to include jalapeño salmon rolls, truffled burrata empanadas and pizza topped with house-crusted prime rib.
You’ll order one (or all three) at a semicircular booth in back or at the long marble bar. And when talk turns to drinks, you’ll discuss the four Old Fashioneds, the four martinis, the white whiskey White Russian and that delicious-sounding Harvey Wallbanger.
Needless to say, there’s a lot to discuss.
