Big week for leather. M.Gemi is popping up at the Grove with Italian-made leather oxfords and calfskin sneakers. And on Abbot Kinney, Miansai opened a shop covered in great watches, leather wallets, bags and billfolds. So you’ll narrowly avoid another slow leather week.
Don’t fight the feeling anymore. Go ahead, touch the art. That’s the whole idea behind a big group show at the Pacific Design Center. It’s even called Please Touch the Art. In case there was any confusion.
OUE Skyspace LA, the 71st-floor observation deck at Downtown’s US Bank Tower, is opening Saturday with that clear glass slide stuck to its side. And to get things started, they’ll host a block party with Snoop Dogg. Since a death-defying glass slide isn’t enough of a draw.
For all anybody knows, disco may be the music they play in hell. But it’s definitely what’s playing at L’Enfer, a ’70s disco party with a demonic underworld theme. There will also be an open bar, disco-dancing devils, acrobats and burlesque dancers. Heaven only has the acrobats.
Charcoal is doing weekend brunch now. So before the beach, you’ll stop by with friends and have some Thai Bloody Marys with your smoked short rib hash and grilled ham benedicts. Then you may carry on as you please.
