Damn sun.
One day, it’s all out and about and shining brightly, and the next four, it decides it would rather cower behind a wall of ominous-looking rain clouds.
Well, you’ll have the sun know that you’re going to enjoy your smoothies, avocado toasts and other healthy warm-weather foods anyway, thank it very much.
Because here comes Left Coast Food + Juice, a laid-back ode to easy California living that’s open right now in Lakeview.
The way this place works is pretty simple...
You walk into the former home of Muskie’s Hamburgers.
You pause to consider the cultural significance of Muskie’s being replaced by a bright, airy restaurant that plans to (soon) sell rosé and cold-pressed juices made with kale, coconut water and activated charcoal.
You press on to the counter and order a smoothie and some all-day breakfast dishes developed under the watchful eye of Paul Kahan of Avec, Dove’s and everything-that-is-good-and-holy fame.
You stride past the accordion doors to the dining area (expect patio seating this summer) and take a seat with your friends in the booth under the funky chandelier.
And the rest goes a little something like this...
